These items are NOT made from plastic, but real aluminum metal with a high quality printed reflective layer of the highest standard laminate on the surface with a mild luster finish. Each sign is detailed with photo real elements you’ve come to expect with all Innovative Hobby Supply products.

HO 1.87 train layouts look great even on HO 1/64 slot car tracks, though it's made specifically for HO train scale. They look great on any HO slot car racing tracks, and layouts of 1/64 for those that want a more subtle look of smaller signs.

INVENTED OUT OF NEED

This amazing sign kit was truly invented out of need by our CEO who wanted cool looking scale signs and refused to use the toy-look plastic ones currently available, that looked super fake in his opinion. It was then that Photo Real signs line was born. He then took it one step further and added a metal back and the same reflective qualities of real road signs with a wow factor that had 3 features that were not available before, even a skilled veteran modeler will appreciate the level of realism in these signs.

HOW IS IT MADE

First, we base our kits on the use of real building materials, then photographed and artistically assembled digitally by a highly skilled artist using computer technology and printed in High Definition on the perfect thickness thin Aluminum Metal stock sheet. Laminated surface is then printed in U.S.A. and laminated under pressure. See the Euro style instructions right here in full color for easy assembly and cutting.

HOW THESE SIGNS ARE ASSEMBLED

See photos below. Assembly is easy, simply cut out signs in groups with a sharp scissors, and then individually, flatten any curvature caused by cutting gently by tapping lightly with a hammer. Sand off or file any sharp edges, then bond to a sign post such as 1/8 x 1/8” wooden craft sticks or our highly detailed and real looking plastic sign posts available in various scale sizes on our eBay store using a mini hot glue gun or the use any hobby cement is ok.

ABOUT THE SCALE

This kit was designed specifically for 1/87 scale. Better known as HO train scale. It is also visually compatible with makers of scale cars although and fits the (LAR) rule of: Looks About Right) for: Johnny Lightning, all Hot Wheels cars, Hotwheel cars, Matchbox cars. HO Train scale is for example 3.5 mm (0.1378 in) represents 1 real foot (304.8 mm); this ratio works out to 1:87.0857142, usually rounded to 1:87.1. Don’t be confused with slot car HO which is approximately 1/64 scale or 1:64 scale.
